Biography
Chris Harvey's Journey

Chris Harvey pursues excellence. He is a natural born salesman and entrepreneur whose first business was a tie-dye tee-shirt operation at a time when his friends were selling lemonade. He then sold Christmas cards from catalogs in July and managed a paper route. As a teenager, he worked summers and Saturdays in greenhouses. By his first year in college, Chris was a skilled meat cutter, taxidermist, and heating and air conditioning mechanic.

Chris HarveyChris holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Shepherd College and a master's degree in economics from the University of Virginia. His professors nominated Chris for inclusion in "Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities."

After college, Chris pursued a career as a stockbroker with Wheat First Securities (now Wachovia Securities). He later helped open the Leesburg, Virginia branch of Smith Barney. Currently he is a Senior Financial Advisor with Ameriprise Financial: McGill, Harvey & Associates.

Chris's commitment to helping clients make informed decisions led to his teaching "Investment and Financial Planning Strategies" for Georgetown University. He was a faculty member in the continuing education department for thirteen years.

Chris has served on community boards including Lions International and Services for the Visually Impaired. He is an ordained deacon in the Southern Baptist Church and served on church planning and financial committees. Chris was a founding board member for Loudoun Transportation Association, which operates door-to-door bus services for those without other forms of transportation. He chaired the task force that established Dominion Academy, a private K-8 school in Leesburg, Virginia, and later served two terms as a board member.

While at Wheat First Securities, he received the prestigious J.C. Wheat, Jr. Community Service Award for his motivational and disability awareness presentations for local clubs, churches, and schools.

Chris also served on disability awareness panels for the Defense Mapping Agency and for Bell Atlantic (now Verizon).

Chris and his wife Stephanie live in Leesburg, Virginia with their three children, and are involved members of the community.
